Office of Fair Trading at frontier to check Spanish businesses have right licences & registrations

The Office of Fair Trading has started checking that Spanish businesses coming into Gibraltar have the right licences and registrations.

GBC understands the OFT had a physical presence at the frontier for two hours this morning, checking marked and unmarked vans, though it is not clear whether there was any enforcement at this stage.

In October, the OFT launched an awareness campaign aimed at Spanish companies.

Business Minister, Gemma Arias-Vasquez, spoke about driving a level playing field among all businesses operating in Gibraltar, via awareness and enforcement.
