The Technical Services Department is investigating the causes of and possible solutions for recurring sewage overflows by the Mount Alvernia elderly residential home.
This week saw the sewer overflow again by St Bernard's Road. In response to GBC questions, the Government said there have been four such incidents since November.
It said the Technical Services Department, the Environmental Agency, and AquaGib have all been involved in the effort to stop these. The sewer and drainage system are undergoing inspections by Civil Engineers, who will send a final report to Elderly Residential Services.
The report will specify the work needed to regulate the infrastructure. In the interim, the sewers at Mount Alvernia will be flushed on a weekly basis for the next six weeks.
Mount Alvernia has also discontinued the use of wet wipes to avoid these being flushed down the toilets.
