Paddy Power cuts put 400 jobs at risk as Gibraltar impact remains unclear

Paddy Power is closing up to 100 betting shops in the UK and Ireland, putting around 400 jobs at risk.

The company says rising costs and higher gambling taxes are behind the decision.

Flutter, which owns Paddy Power and has a small operation in Gibraltar,  has confirmed to GBC that the review only relates to its retail estate in the UK and Ireland.

GBC also asked whether any separate job cuts are being considered in Gibraltar. The company has not addressed that question.
