The Parcel Post Office is expected to move into its new premises at the former Royal Gibraltar Yacht Club Site on Queensway, during February. In answer to GBC questions
Government has confirmed works are at an advanced stage, with the structural frames completed and external shell and roof progressing well. The next step it says, will be the internal fit–out of the buildings. Other entities are also expected to move in at the same time.
Regarding how adequate these ‘temporary homes’ are, it says like any other building these have undergone building control assessments and evaluations, and will be issued with a certificate of fitness before they are occupied. The Government says the entities being relocated from Waterport will operate from here “until decisions are taken in the near future regarding their permanent locations”. Meanwhile Car Parks Offices will be moved to New Harbours and are expected to be up and running in the next few weeks too.
