Parts of Gibraltar experience power outage for around three hours

Parts of Gibraltar experienced a power outage for around three hours today.

GibElec said the issue was due to a cable fault on Queensway.

Traffic was diverted while investigations were carried out along Queensway.

Lights went out at around 12:30 in areas such as Casemates, Upper town, Devil’s Tower Road, Glacis and Europlaza, according to social media posts.

GibElec apologised to its customers for the power cut but did not provide any specific explanation as to its cause.

GBC has put questions to the government.
