Pedro Sanchez has been the first Spanish Premier not to mention Gibraltar at the UN's General Assembly.
The Spanish press reports Spain's sovereignty claim was missing from the address to the astonishment and perplexity of Spanish diplomats present.
Pedro Sanchez has mentioned the sovereignty claim in all his speeches at the General assembly since he got into power in 2018, following in the footsteps of his predecessors and Spanish Monarchs.
It is his first address before the General Assembly since the provisional implementation of the Treaty.
Mr Sanchez gave a highly politically charged address focusing on relations with America, international co-operation and on the defence of feminism.
