Petition with almost 5,500 signature calling for Rosia Bay to be safeguarded handed in to Chief Minister

A petition with almost 5,500 signatures, calling for Rosia Bay to be safeguarded, has been handed in to the Chief Minister.

The online petition was started by the Nautilus Project, and is supported by the Heritage Trust, the Environmental Safety Group and other NGOs.

The groups argue that conservation, restoration, education and research should be priorities in any development of the area. They all oppose plans for a residential development at Rosia.

Representatives from the NGOs briefly met with the Chief Minister, who also promised to have a lengthier meeting with them soon.
