Pets now allowed on buses, Government confirms

If you're travelling with pets including cats, dogs and guinea pigs, the Government has confirmed you can take them on the buses.

The confirmation comes in response to GBC questions following concerns raised on social media.

There are, however, restrictions.

Animals must be small and carried in an appropriate carrier that can be carried by the passenger, such as on their lap, without the need for an additional seat.

The Government said this is a general policy that applies to all bus drivers, although drivers can use their discretion in certain situations, such as where another passenger has a specific allergy.
