A 14 year-old boy was reportedly assaulted by six men in the area of Referendum House in the early hours of Monday morning. Police are appealing for any witnesses or information on the incident.
The men allegedly attempted to rob the boy before kicking, punching him and hitting him with a metal implement. He sustained multiple injuries and was taken to hospital.
The men reportedly first chased the boy in a car. The owner of that car, 18 year-old Cain Parody, has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, dangerous driving and violent disorder.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the RGP on 20072500 or by reporting information on the RGP's website. Further arrests are not ruled out.
