Police & Customs disperse gathering of 300 at Little Bay, the night after lockdown eased to allow gatherings of up to 12

Despite the law currently restricting gatherings to groups of a maximum of 12, over 300 people gathered at Little Bay last night. According to the Royal Gibraltar Police, they had been socialising in close proximity to each other & drinking alcohol. The RGP, HM Customs & Defence Police officers dispersed the crowd, who complied. Access to Little Bay was restricted overnight.

An RGP spokesperson said these type of gatherings in such large numbers are completely unacceptable, in breach of regulations & contrary to Public Health advice to prevent the spread of Covid-19. “Such incidents may lead to some areas being restricted or closed off in the future”.
