An International multi-agency drug trafficking operation has led to the seizure of 108 kilos of Cocaine with a street value of £6.5 million. The drugs had been concealed in a parasite or torpedo container attached to the exterior of a bulk carrier, under the water line.
A total of 34 officers from the Royal Gibraltar Police and Customs boarded the vessel, Mount Faber, which had sailed from Colombia. The RGP was working on intelligence.
The operation started on Monday evening, with officers staying onboard overnight. After securing the £6.5m worth of cocaine on land, the search of Mount Faber continued. Officers were expected to remain on board through Tuesday night into Wednesday.
