The former private secretary to both Pope Benedict the Sixteenth and Pope Francis will be taking part in this year’s Literary Festival.

The Most Reverend Alfred Xuereb, who is now the Apostolic Nuncio to Morocco, will present his book 'My Days with Benedict the Sixteenth'.

The Reverend's book offers a personal insight into the former Pope’s daily life, including how he spent Christmas and Lent, as well as his friendships, sense of humor and spiritual reflections.

This year marks the Literary Festival’s 12th year, and 37 authors have been announced so far.

Other guests announced include former conservative MP, Dame Penny Mordaunt, Sunday Times bestselling author Adele Parks and local author Dr. Minal Viz who will be speaking on her book ‘The Power of Protest’ detailing her landmark case against the UK government during the covid pandemic.

The festival runs from the ninth to 15th November.
