The Port Authority says a vessel carrying Russian-origin fuel was allowed to call at Gibraltar after it met strict compliance checks.
In response to GBC questions, it said the Lady Henrietta was not involved in any ship-to ship transfer and was only taking on bunkers, stores and basic services.
The Government says the crude oil tanker, the Lady Henrietta submitted all required documentation 48hours ahead of arrival, including an attestation confirming the cargo complies with the Russian oil price cap under UK, EU and UN sanctions.
The Port Authority says that no vessel linked to Russia is granted access to Gibraltar services unless it fully meets the conditions set out in 2024.
While several Spanish news outlets are reporting the Lady Henrietta carried out a ship to ship transfer with a Gibraltar registered vessel, the Government insists all procedures were followed.
