The Queen has sent birthday greetings to Michael Saliva who turned 100 this week.
These were delivered by the Chief Minister, who also took with him a birthday card from himself.
Fabian Picardo shared the day with Mr Saliva and his daughters, Magda Fortunato and Rosemary Fortuna.
And, Michael Saliva, a carpenter by trade, certainly had a story or two to tell. As the Convent handyman, later works supervisor, he'd made himself invaluable to a string of Governors and their wives.
And this was not just him saying, with proof in boxes packed with letters of recommendation from the great and the good.
