RAF aircraft providing hantavirus medical support in Tristan da Cunha in Gibraltar to refuel

An RAF A400 aircraft which has been providing hantavirus medical support in Tristan da Cunha, is in Gibraltar to refuel.

The aircraft arrived in Sunday evening after offering specialist parachute assistance onto remote island.

Tristan da Cunha is one of Britian’s most remote overseas territory, in the South Atlantic and is only accessible by boat. 

The parachute drop involved medical personnel in-tandem, oxygen supplies and medical equipment.
