An online petition calling for Article 50 to be revoked has exceeded two million signatures, meaning it will now be debated in the UK's Parliament.
The site has proven so popular it crashed several times as Theresa May made her way to Brussels to request a Brexit deadline extension.
The petition began to gather momentum on Wednesday night following the Prime Minister's public address from Downing Street, with the petition committee tweeting that the rate of signatures was "the highest they had ever had to deal with" - at times nearly 2,000 per minute.
Last year, the European Court of Justice ruled that revocation can be carried out unilaterally by the UK within the two year notification period, following a democratic process.
