RGP officers are facing multi jurisdictional legal proceedings following a collision at sea in March, where two Spanish nationals lost their lives and two other men were injured. In answer to questions from in Parliament from Opposition member, Daniel Feetham, the Chief Minister said he could not emphasise the seriousness of the situation enough. He confirmed the collision occurred out of British Gibraltar Territorial Waters and GBC understands it involves a crew of three. The incident has had diplomatic repercussions with Spain having lodged a complaint in the form of a note verbal. Fabian Picardo said this was an issue of concern for the Government and one it is currently dealing with. The Government, he said, would pay for all legal representation and will lend all its support for the officers' mental and physical wellbeing.
