Ronnie Scott is not an official partner of this year’s Jazz Festival, despite the Government’s announcement in October that it “had partnered with the world’s most famous jazz brand”.
This according to a piece published in the Gibraltar Chronicle in which journalist James Neish highlights that the Government has since changed its branding to call it: “The Gibraltar International Jazz Festival”.
The piece quotes the Ronnie Scott Headquarters in London, saying that they “weren’t an official partner or anything like that”. They said they would promote their presence at the festival but that “nothing bigger had been agreed“.
The piece also quotes the Minister for Culture, Steven Linares, calling it a “Joint Venture partnership", and adding it was "at an experimental stage this year”.
