Members of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment have recently completed a live firing and dry training exercise in the UK. Soldiers from the Reserve element joined their counterparts, from ‘I’ Company, in Otterburn, for a package which focused on their individual fire and movement skills.
The full time members, who were in the UK for 5 weeks, also undertook two distinct exercises aimed at Private and Lance Corporal soldiers.
They were placed in various command appointments, to identify those ready for future promotional courses. The final exercise tested Platoon level tactics, and included night patrols through challenging terrain.
The Regiment says ‘Barbarian Axe’, proved to be a challenging yet successful deployment for all those involved.
