A strike from school in aid of climate change, is set to take place Friday morning.
The 'GibSchoolStrike4ClimateChange' started off as a Facebook event, encouraging students around the Rock to skip the morning session to protest over lack of action on climate change.
It now has 119 going and 242 people interested in taking part, including students, teachers and Government officials.
The strike is part of a global initiative, Fridays for Future, which will see 524 places in 59 counties striking for climate change around the world, now including Gibraltar.
In answer to GBC questions, the Government says children will not be stopped from attending the event and that those attending the event will not be counted as absent, but schools will remain open.
The Environmental Safety Group said it was "positive and emboldening to see young people taking such a stand".
The strike will begin at nine in the morning with a march from Casemates Square to No.6 Convent Place.
