The Environmental Agency has completed its latest rodent-control treatment programme across the city centre and says it is continuing pest-management work in Government residential estates.
The programme covered the sewerage network, utility manholes and other high-footfall areas.
The last full treatment was in October and November.
The update comes amid international concerns over hantavirus. Public Health Gibraltar says the current risk to Gibraltar remains low, although monitoring will continue.
The Agency is also carrying out its seasonal cockroach treatment programme ahead of the warmer months.
Minister for the Environment John Cortes described the pest-control programme as an 'essential but often unseen' public-health service that protects our community everyday. He urged residents to help by securing waste properly and reporting any rodent sightings.
