Self-isolation procedures for the public service published by HR

The Human Resources Manager has published a memo to all public servants highlighting self isolation procedures.

If told to self isolate by 111, they are to email covidsicknote@gha.gi with their information and copy in their line manager.

The COVID team will then send the line manager a sick note.

The memo stresses that any officer caught outside their place of residence, without a valid reason, while on a certificate for COVID-19 self-isolation, will be subjected to disciplinary proceedings.

Sick notes must also be produced for any other illnesses.

Human Resources stresses the importance for all essential public services to continue to be operational, adding staff is being re-deployed to achieve this.

It highlights every employee’s role is essential in this very difficult time, saying it is proud to witness how most of the public service has pulled together and has responded with great positivity and resilience in this time of great need.

It thanks public servants and asks that they continue to discharge its duties with the energy and passion that is being witnessed across the community.
