Spain has extended rights to British Citizens included in the Withdrawal agreement to Gibraltarians until the 30th of June 2021 as part of their no-deal mitigation.
Meanwhile negotiations to achieve a deal before the 31st have been ramped up.
The rights are reciprocal with Gibraltar having published a host of mitigations by regulation this month.
Gibraltarians will be able to carry on working in Spain until then.
In answer to GBC questions the Government says it’s aware of the unilateral mitigation measures published by Spain for the eventuality of no deal on Gibraltar by the end of the year. It adds it continues to work to achieve a deal in time to avoid the difficulties and challenges that would arise from no-deal, although it’s also fully prepared for such an eventuality. With less than 48 hours left to finalise arrangements, the work, it says, is in the highest gear and at the highest levels of engagement in all relevant jurisdictions.
