Spanish man fined £2,000 after pleading guilty to fishing tuna without a licence & other charges

A Spanish man has been fined £2,000 after pleading guilty to fishing tuna without a licence, resisting or obstructing police, and steering his boat dangerously.

47 year old Juan Antonio Martin Perez of La Linea handed himself into the Royal Gibraltar Police in relation to an incident last September, when he was chased by RGP Marine Section officers before escaping from British Gibraltar waters off Europa Point.

He appeared at the Magistrates' Court, and was fined £1,000 each for the tuna fishing and resisting police charges, with no separate penalty for the dangerous manoeuvring.
