A Spanish National has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Victor Javier Gurdiel Guerrero, of Algeciras, was also charged with not having an appropriate driving licence, and a further count of dangerous driving.

They relate to an incident in January in which a man was killed by a lorry in the area of Winston Churchill Avenue.

58 year old Jaimie McPherson, a marine surveyor from Cadiz, had been in Gibraltar for business, when he was killed on his way to the frontier.

He was travelling on a motorbike behind a lorry when its tailgate door swung open and struck Mr McPherson, knocking him to the ground.

Mr McPherson later died of his injuries.

Mr Gurdiel Guerrero has been denied bail and will be appearing before the Magistrates Court on Monday Morning.
