Spanish reports claim Green ID card holders added to those exempt from EES at frontier

Green ID card holders will be able to cross into Spain without having to undergo EES registration.

This according to Europa Sur which states Spanish police at the frontier received the new instructions on the extended bridging measures by WhatsApp this week.

The report adds this is a provisional measure until the 15th of July when Treaty implementation is expected.

GBC understands these measures have been in place since the 10th of April although there have been 'glitches' with reports that green ID cards were not being accepted.

Green IDs are issued to non-EU, third country nationals (not British), resident in Gibraltar.
