St John Ambulance temporarily stops all training, patient transfers & events coverage, after Island Games highlighted 'operational & management issues'

The St John Ambulance association has cancelled all Young First Aider courses and medical cover for public events until it completes a restructuring process this year.

A letter was sent to parents of children who'd registered for the courses through the Summer Sports and Leisure Programme.

The decision comes after the local St John association teamed up with a group from Guernsey during the Island Games, as well as the ambulance service and student nurses from the UK and Gibraltar.

The letter says this highlighted a few areas in the local organisation that need "restructuring".

St John Ambulance apologised for the last minute cancellation of its courses, and will refund any monies paid.
