Stipendiary Magistrate Charles Pitto retires following opening of police investigation against him

Stipendiary Magistrates Charles Pitto has retired. This follows the opening of a police investigation against him.

Last Thursday Mr Pitto informed the Chief Justice of his intention to retire from the various judicial offices he held.

The Governor acting on the advice of the Judicial Service Commission has today accepted the request for retirement with immediate effect.

Mr Pitto remains the subject of a police investigation.
