A conference by the European Association of Substance Abuse Research, held at the University last week, has given those who took part a much-needed chance to exchange methods and ideas to further advance research in the area. This is according to the Association's President, Professor Ludwig Kraus, who told GBC the conference had been very well-attended, especially after the halt to in-person gatherings during the height of COVID. The conference dealt with different forms of addiction, from substance abuse to problem gaming and gambling, and was hosted by the University's Centre of Excellence in Responsible Gaming.
GBC reporter Christina Cortes asked Professor Kraus about the common qualities underpinning different kinds of addiction.
