The iconic Sundial Roundabout could be replaced by a new design.

The Government has asked architects and design professionals to design a new centrepiece for the site, as well as for the Kingsway Roundabout.

The Government says the roundabout installations will reinforce Devil’s Tower Road as a principal gateway to Gibraltar, and calls on the design community to help shape lasting visual symbols of Gibraltar’s identity.

According to the expressions of interest process, the design proposals must creatively interpret the theme “British Gibraltar”, using sustainable, durable, and low-maintenance materials, and be carefully scaled to ensure road safety and visibility.

Submissions must include a design approach statement, an experience portfolio and a lump sum fee proposal covering two conceptual designs per roundabout, 3D digital models, and weekly meetings with Government-appointed project managers.

The deadline is Friday 24th October 2025, and all entries must be hand-delivered to the Ministry of Transport in Town Range.
