The complainant in a rape trial has told the Supreme Court she woke up to the defendant touching her sexually.

Glacis Estate resident Johaness Green faces several charges, including rape and assault. He denies all charges.

The jury heard the complainant's police interview, where she described the alleged rape.

She said she woke up “in shock” and “felt horrible” afterwards.

The complainant admitted to the police officer that she had never shared that story with anyone, not even her friends.

The complainant also told the police the defendant had taken her mobile phone and would then bombard her with emails, many containing derogatory remarks.

At this point, the police officer described this kind of behaviour as a type of psychological and emotional abuse.

The court continues to hear evidence from the complainant. She is also expected to give live evidence via video link.
