Technical talks on the future relationship between Gibraltar and the European Union have continued in Gibraltar on Wednesday. Further talks will take place tomorrow. This time across the border in the Campo.
As in previous rounds, the Chief Minister and his Deputy are taking part, along with officials from Gibraltar, the UK and Spain.
Fabian Picardo and Joseph Garcia attended talks in Madrid last month when the Chief Minister said he was working hard on an agreement that would see maximum fluidity at the frontier after Brexit. Issues such as joining the Schengen Area were reportedly mooted.
At the time, Mr Picardo said talks with Spain had stalled over who would police Gibraltar's entry points.
He proposed a neutral solution, stressing that one needed to be found that did not involve crossing any side's red lines. He proposed Frontex border agents or technology as possible solutions.
Fabian Picardo told GBC the deadline for an agreement would ideally coincide with the UK's self-imposed deadline for a deal. That's tomorrow. The 15th of October.
