Testing of LNG unloading systems took place yesterday with the carrier ‘Coral Methane’ rehearsing its berthing procedures at the new terminal at the end of the North Mole. This also provided an opportunity for staff to test the terminal’s special loading arm and its safety systems.
The Minister for the Environment and Energy, John Cortes, says, ‘This has been another exciting step on the way to producing our energy in a much cleaner and more efficient way.'
Testing and evaluation of all the systems in both the terminal and the power station will continue to be tested over the coming weeks.
