At the courts in neighbouring Morrocco, three men have been sentenced to the death penalty for the murders of two women last year. The case revolves around two Scandinavian hikers, who were beheaded in the High Atlas Mountains.
The murders, described as 'Isis-inspired,' have been the subject of a trial in Morocco, for the last 11 weeks.
25 year old Abdessamad Ejjoud, admitted to killing one of the women and was reportedly the ringleaders in the incident. 27 year old Younes Ouaziyad, confessed to the other murder. The third man, Rachid Afatti, recorded the murders on his phone.
Morocco has not carried out an execution since 1993.
