Three nursing student cohorts finally have graduation ceremony

Three separate nursing student cohorts who completed their degrees with Kingston University during the past two years have had their graduation ceremony together after delays caused by Covid-19.

The three-year programmes were entirely delivered and assessed locally by the School of health Studies and practice partners within the GHA, which hosted the event.

A total of 31 graduates were presented with their awards, with most of the 2020 and 2021 students already employed locally as Enrolled Nurses.

Director of Nursing and Ambulance Services, Sandie Gracia said she was extremely proud of all of them, but particularly the first batch of students who, having completed their course in 2020, were able to join the workforce early on during the pandemic.

Director General of the GHA, Patrick Geoghegan said the nurses have already had a positive impact on Gibraltar, while Minister for Health Albert Isola highlighted that these would be the last cohorts to graduate from Kingston University, as the Gibraltar University has already started offering nursing degree courses.
