Together Gibraltar is accusing the Chief Minister of having developed an increasingly arrogant and dismissive tone with his electorate, showing a clear disregard for criticisms that the party says are fair and healthy in a democratic system.
Instead, it says, the Chief Minister should show some respect for the community he serves, and exercise his office with decorum and humility.
The party believes mocking the spelling of legitimate political statements or engineering public vendettas against people littering in the Upper Rock is not the behaviour becoming of someone holding the highest office, regardless of the substance of the actions or criticisms.
On Community Care, TG leader, Marlene Hassan Nahon, says statements on the subject will have a very significant negative impact on the welfare of many of our retired citizens and therefore deserve the utmost consideration. She adds the Gibraltar electorate should not be treated with such disrespect and vanity.
She describes his dismissal of statements on Community Care reform as encapsulating “the culture of entitlement”, as the height of hypocrisy. In fact she believes it's the “culture of irresponsibility” of those who have governed Gibraltar in recent years which has led to it, adding it is now being denounced by the leader of the party which has most contributed to creating it.
