Independent MP, Marlene Hassan Nahon, will be launching her new party at a press conference on Wednesday 28th November. Speaking to GBC, Ms Hassan Nahon confirmed she will be presenting an initial executive made up of between 12 and 15 members.
Marlene Hassan Nahon first revealed there would be a new political party in Gibraltar on a live Viewpoint interview in September. At an EGM three weeks ago, members of the Together Gibraltar movement to voted overwhelmingly in favour of making the transition into a political party, and contesting the next election.
Now a date has been set for the party launch, in 20 days' time. GBC understands the party will retain the Together Gibraltar name; however, it will be rebranding its corporate imagery to reflect the transition into a party structure.
Ms Hassan Nahon confirmed to GBC that she will be presenting an executive of between twelve and fifteen people at the party launch, although she has not revealed at this stage who those executive members are. She has also confirmed that Party’s Charter, which will be presented at the launch, will allow for the executive to consist of more members.
At the party launch, the independent MP will also announce that the first annual party conference will be held at the John Mackintosh Hall on the 5th February.
