Topshop Gibraltar says it would like to stay open if it is able to receive regular stock, following ASOS purchase of brand

Online clothing giant ASOS has purchased UK brand Topshop. It is one of four brands under the Arcadia Group that has been purchased in a 295 million pound deal.

As with Boohoo's purchase of Debenhams last week, ASOS will be buying the Topshop brand but not its stores.

Breckland Trading Company Limited - who owns the local Topshop branch - told GBC it knows no more than we do at the moment, in regards to what the purchase will mean for the Rock's store.

The Company's Managing Director Chris Tombolis says that if Topshop Gibraltar is able to keep receiving regular stock, it's intention is to remain open.

Boohoo is in talks to purchase the Dorothy Perkins brand, which is also run by Breckland Trading Company Limited.

Mr Tombolis says that if this purchase goes through, he would also like to keep Dorothy Perkins Gibraltar open if regular stocking is still possible.
