The US President says he could “work with anybody” at Number 10 but stressed he would “stay out of the election”.
Donald Trump was speaking as he arrived in the UK yesterday for a three day visit.
He will attend the Nato summit on Wednesday, which will commemorate the transatlantic organisation’s 70th anniversary, as well as attend a reception hosted by the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
However the President, who is expected to face some protests during his visit, said the US wanted “absolutely nothing to do with the NHS”, when asked whether it would form part of trade talks.
Donald Trump is also expected to meet with Boris Johnson, who he described as "very capable", as Britain prepares to go to the polls in just over a week.
