Two British-Australian women have been arrested and detained in a prison in Iran as tensions continue to escalate between London and Tehran.
This according to the Times, which reports a blogger who was journeying through Asia with her Australian boyfriend, and an academic who studied at the University of Cambridge and was lecturing at a university in Australia, were seized in separate incidents. According to the paper, they are being held in the same jail as Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, the 41-year-old British-Iranian mother held since 2016 on spying charges.
They are thought to be the first British passport-holders who do not also have Iranian nationality to have been imprisoned by Tehran in recent years.
