Two juveniles have been remanded in custody after being arrested on suspicion of burgling the Karate-do-Shotokai club at Town Range, and Drummonds Accountants on Main Street. They have pleaded not guilty to the burglary charges.
The defendants, aged 13 and 14 years old, were arrested by Royal Gibraltar Police officers yesterday afternoon after a Karate club member reported the incident. They were allegedly found by police at Wellington front smoking cannabis.
Both juveniles were charged with the two burglaries, and the 13 year old was further charged with assault and possession of a controlled drug. However despite requesting bail, the court felt that there was a “highly likelihood” of reoffending if bail was granted because both juveniles were under bail conditions for previous charges whilst the latest offences were said to have been committed. They are set to reappear in court on the 16th January.
