Covid reappears in resident cases. Though second 'positive' turns out to be false

Two new resident cases of Covid 19 were confirmed this weekend, although the second turned out to be a false positive

The first was an unvaccinated individual in Gibraltar confirmed on Saturday. The Contact Tracing Bureau is working hard to identify close contacts. Close contacts who are unvaccinated will be required to self-isolate for 10 days. Close contacts who are fully vaccinated or have had COVID-19 in the past 180 days are considered casual contacts. They do not need to isolate but will be required to wear a mask outside the house, practice social distancing and test on day 5 and day 10.

A second active Covid case was confirmed on Sunday, unrelated to that of Saturday. This is a resident child, who has one unvaccinated parent.  Initially 20 other children were required to self isolate.

However the case turned out to be a false positive.
