UK Ambassador to Spain meets with Chief Minister

The UK Ambassador to Spain has met with the Chief Minister in Gibraltar.

Alex Ellis and Fabian Picardo greeted each other outside Number Six on Monday evening.

The Government says they discussed a range of matters, reaffirming the strength of the UK - Gibraltar partnership and the shared commitment to delivering a positive outcome on the ongoing Brexit treaty process.

Mr Ellis was also in Algeciras. He met with the city's Mayor Jose Ignacio Landaluce.

Alex Ellis was appointed to the role of UK Ambassador to Spain in September last year. He previously worked as Director General in the Department of Exiting the EU. He has previously described the relationship between the United Kingdom and Spain as 'exceptional.'
