Unite the Union says it is willing to negotiate with the Chief Minister for a meaningful end to the dispute over agency workers and job insecurity - but states it has been seven years without progress. This follows a meeting of Unite shop stewards and activists to finalise details of its protest next Wednesday; members of other unions are also invited to take part.
In his New Year message, Fabian Picardo reiterated he would bring an end to the use of agency workers in the Civil Service, and looked ahead to a more modern system of apprenticeships. Christina Cortes put this to Unite Regional Officer, Victor Ochello.
