A vigil was held at the Shrine of Our Lady of Europe on Thursday night to pray that life will be protected for the born and unborn in Gibraltar.
Bishop Carmel Zammit said this was due to the bill to change Gibraltar's abortion legislation, soon to be heard in Parliament.
According to the organisers, over 250 people attended the vigil, with a screen placed outside the shrine for those who did not fit inside.
In his address, the Bishop said the Christian faith proclaims that people are children of God from conception, made in his image.
He said those in attendance were there to pray for all of Gibraltar and that as disciples of Christ, they are called to spread God's love for all, including those who are not born yet.
