Kidney Disease is one of the world's silent killers.
And with one in ten suffering from some form of kidney disorder, theDialysis Patients and Friends Association have for the first time commemorated World Kidney Day on the Rock.
Under the theme, Kidney Health for Everyone Everywhere, the aim is to draw public attention to the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle to help look after your kidneys, the risks for developing kidney disease and the impact it has on patients.
As part of their awareness drive, the Charity organised an event at Westside School, in which Science teachers dissected kidneys, and PE teachers encouraged students to stay active through some games and activities.
Students also got the chance to talk to a number of dialysis patients as well as kidney recipients and donors.
