Thirty years ago we sent letters in envelopes which took days or weeks to arrive. We left our houses to go shopping. We spoke to people face to face or over the telephone, and we read the news in print or watched it on the television. Now we do much of this online thanks to the world wide web, which today celebrates its 30th anniversary.
Created by Tim Berner's-Lee on 12th March 1989, the online application allows us to access and consume information on the internet in a way that has completely transformed the way we live our lives today.
