Preparations have started for a series of debates as part of the Gibraltar Youth Parliament.

The initiative aims to give young people a platform to develop their confidence, public speaking skills, teamwork, and understanding of parliamentary practices.

The successful candidates selected to take part in the programme met with the Speaker, Karen Ramagge Phillips, at the John Mackintosh Hall.

They were assigned into teams and given debate topics, as well as guidance on parliamentary debating procedure and conduct.

The Speaker encouraged the students to approach the experience with dedication, professionalism, and respect for parliamentary tradition.
