David Wilson

Sports Reporter

Davie started with GBC in 2018 and you may recognise his voice from the co-commentary and match analysis during our television coverage of the Gibraltar national football team games in the World Cup qualifiers and the Nation's League.

From 2012-2016 Davie worked with the GFA, starting as Rehabilitation Instructor, moving to national Assistant Manager and went on to have a short term as Interim Manager for the national team. He led the squad against world champions Germany, Croatia and his native Scotland at Hampden, where Gibraltar scored their first ever competitive goal.

Davie is loaded with enthusiasm for his new role. He has a strong knowledge of a variety of sports from his time as a Royal Navy Physical Trainer, where he spent almost 24 years in physical education, instruction and rehabilitation. He is qualified as coach and umpire/referee in many sports and activities, from adventurous training to netball. A UEFA A Licence holder, Davie is also head coach of local team Bruno’s Magpies. In his short time at GBC Davie says "I love the buzz of sports reporting and knowing that I can start an interview with a deep interest in my subject excites me."
