Around 38 migrants have arrived by boat on the Campo de Gibraltar coastline since Friday, amid renewed activity on migration routes across the Strait.
Meanwhile, as part of reinforced surveillance in the Ceuta area, the Spanish Navy has deployed the frigates Navarra and Santa María, alongside the patrol vessel Rayo.
Eight people were intercepted at Punta Carnero in Algeciras on Friday, with the alleged skipper of the boat arrested.
On Saturday evening, around ten people arrived at Puente Mayorga in San Roque. Spanish media reports say a Guardia Civil helicopter pursued the boat’s skipper as the vessel headed back out to sea after those on board had disembarked.
A further boat carrying around 20 people reached the Poniente coast of La Linea around midnight.
The incidents come amid heightened migration pressure around Ceuta and the Strait of Gibraltar, following a series of attempted crossings from Morocco in recent days.
The latest arrivals follow the interception of two boats carrying a total of 17 migrants in Algeciras and La Linea the previous weekend.
